Going batty: Morris Animal Foundation podcast explores bats, viruses

Bats have a reputation as virus spreaders – is that fair? In a recent podcast, the Morris Animal Foundation explores the truth about bats, viruses and the spread of disease.

Host Dr. Kelly Diehl talks with virus expert Dr. Angela Bosco-Lauth, assistant professor of biomedical sciences at Colorado State University, to separate truth from fiction.

The veterinary researcher’s primary research interests focus on zoonotic infectious diseases, including viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, influenza and West Nile. Current projects she’s working on include host pathogenesis and immunity as well as transmission dynamics and environmental factors that contribute to infection.
