Since its 2015 inception, NBCUniversal’s Clear The Shelters campaign has helped more than 860,000 pets find new homes.
NBC's 2023 campaign began on Aug. 1 and continues through the month, according to a story from TVNewsCheck.
As part of the campaign, NBCUniversal Local presented a 30-minute special on NBC stations, Cozi TV and NBC owned stations’ local news streaming channels on Aug. 4.
Dr. Kwane Stewart, founder of Project Street Vet was featured as part of the Today Show kickoff for the campaign (see video below).
He spoke with Al Roker and other hosts about what people should think about before adopting a pet. He also shared the importance of examining lifestyle, knowing the level of commitment and buying pet insurance.
NBC Universal's campaign site includes additional stories, a map to find local shelters and tips for pet parents before and after adopting an animal from the shelter. Rescues may also register on this site to be included in the campaign.
Hill's is a sponsor of the NBC Universal initiative. The Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program has helped more than 13 million pets find new homes since 2002.
