To mark the May 20th annual National Rescue Dog Day, scotch whisky brand, Copper Dog, has pledged to match donations. The company will match donations to selected charities up to a total of $40,000.
“Dogs are at the heart of our brand because they reflect the same values upon which Copper Dog was founded - playfulness, mischief, sociability and rascaliness,” said Piers Adam, founder of Copper Dog. “We're honored to support man's best friends and all the people giving them new homes on National Rescue Dog Day.”
As part of the gift, Copper Dog has selected eight charities for which it will match up to $5,000 each. The organizations include The Labelle Foundation and Wags & Walks Rescue, both of California; Colorado’s Animal Rescue of the Rockies; PAWS Chicago, based in Illinois; Animal Haven and Second Chance Rescue, both of New York; St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center of New Jersey; and Austin Pets Alive of Texas. Events will last through dates in May or into June.
“We are proud to partner with local rescue centers and shelters across the US to double funds raised this National Rescue Dog Day, so that they can care for even more dogs in need,” said Jamie Young, director of Single Malts, Diageo, the parent company of Copper Dog. “These local organizations share our rascally spirit, advocating for every last underdog in their communities.”
Since 2021, Copper Dog has donated more than $500,000 to
