Your Natural Dog will host a virtual event to discuss holistic healing for pets. The discussion is to be focused on treatments with food, medicinal herbs, plants, and mushrooms, avoiding treatment with pharmaceuticals.
The event, “Do No Harm, The Opioid Crisis in Veterinary Medicine,” will be held Sept. 22 at 3 pm EST and will be hosted by Angela Ardolino and Dr. Josie Beug, DVM. A panel of holistic veterinarians, including Dr. PJ Broadfoot, Dr. Ruth Roberts, Dr. Sarah Urban, Dr. Ava Frick, Dr. Tejinder Sodhi, and Maria Ringo of Carna4 and Dr. James St. Clair, will also join the discussion.
According to the company, pets are impacted by the overuse of antibiotics, opioids, steroids, and other therapies. The company suggests that prescription medication error is a significant cause of death in veterinary medicine.
“We want to do something about this epidemic and have decided that educating pet parents and caretakers is the way to go,” said Angela Ardolino of Your Natural Dog.
The free event (with options for upgraded access) is the kickoff for a planned series that is intended to provide information to pet owners, veterinary care staff and veterinarians.
