Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) has launched a new program to help consumers better understand how dairy farmers care for their animals while preserving their family farmland for future generations. DFW has teamed up with former NFL defensive back LeRoy Butler, who is passionate about Wisconsin cheese and dairy farms, to promote the project.
With over 500,000 followers on social media, this collaboration will share farm and dairy stories with Butler's fans, educating them on common farm practices, such as entering a state-of-the-art milking parlor or feeding a calf.
Butler’s followers asked him questions through social media, and he was able to answer them during his time visiting two family-owned Wisconsin Dairy farms: the Loehrs of Forest Ridge Holsteins in Eden and the Bonlenders of Clover Hill Dairy in Campbellsport.
Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, and Butler, hope that Butler’s post can help promote transparency about food and where it comes from.
