ElleVet to treat pets in ‘vulnerable communities’

Nonprofit 501(c)(3), The ElleVet Project, will continue its efforts to aid animals in need with its work providing veterinary care at no charge. The nonprofit will serve pets in identified “vulnerable communities” in Boston, California, Chicago, Montana, New York City, Orlando, and Seattle. The tour, which will also include providing supplies and food in addition to veterinary care, will begin in June.

“By expanding this year's relief efforts to five new cities, including Seattle, Portland, Boston, Chicago, and New York City, we will be able to reach more people and their much-loved pets,” said Amanda Howland, co-founder and chief operations officer at ElleVet. “Our efforts these past few years have taught us first-hand how helping a pet can change their owner's life for the better both emotionally and physically.”

The project relies on the donation of time from local veterinary professionals. Community sponsors also provide food and medical items for the vaccination and care efforts. Care can range from emergency treatment to basic healthy checkup and vaccinations as well as providing worming and tick preventative therapies.

ElleVet Project is an offshoot of the company, ElleVet Sciences, which makes CBD and CBDA products.
