The domestic pet services industry is expected to rebound after hinderance during the pandemic, according to a report by ResearchAndMarkets.com. The sector is forecast to reach a value near $16 billion by 2025, according to the market report.
Unlike other sectors, pet services, including pet sitting or walking, pet training, boarding and day care, and grooming, were on hold or severely reduced during the pandemic. Despite the temporary suspension of such services, the willingness of pet owners to pay for services and the social media presence of particular professionals in the pet care market are expected to add to strong growth in the sector.
In addition, increasing rates of pet adoption and ownership, pet owners becoming proactive about pet health and care, and technological advancements and interest from investors are expected to continue to bolster the market. At the same time, the trend toward home-based or virtual appointments for pet services may cause disruption in the market.
