The California Animal Health and Food Safety lab in Tulare reopens

The California Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS) lab in Tulare has resumed their necropsy services in the nearby Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center (VMTRC). The original location of the Alex A. Ardans laboratory (located next door to the VMTRC) has been closed since March, 2023 due to significant flood damage in the basement. Staff expect to be located in the VMTRC for a couple of years while the Ardans lab is undergoing extensive repairs, and thank their clients for patience as they work to restore all services.

Location, Hours and Contact

Location: Veterinary Medicine Teaching and Research Center • 18830 Rd 112, Tulare, CA 93274

Follow the signs to the new receiving area at the rear of the VMTRC, but feel free to stop in the front (administration) building to ask for directions as necessary.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emergency or after hours services can be arranged with the pathologist on call.
