Terramed Acquires World-Renowned Palm Beach Equine Clinic’s Property in Wellington, Florida

Terramed Real Estate Solutions, a leading real estate group specializing in veterinary, ophthalmology, and fertility properties, has completed the $9.27 million acquisition of Palm Beach Equine Clinic in Wellington, Florida, one of the world's most prominent sport-horse veterinary hospitals.

The three-building complex measures a combined 15,719 square feet and sits on a 1.4-acre lot approximately 10 miles southwest of Palm Beach International Airport. It is located within riding distance of Wellington International, home to the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Global Dressage Festival, as well as the National Polo Center, which hosts the men's and women's U.S. Open Polo Championship.

The acquisition, Terramed's fifth veterinary property that provides substantial equine care, reflects the company's continued expansion into specialized healthcare real estate backed by proven operators with long-term market positions. Terramed continues to seek out industry-leading equine veterinary hospitals in geographies where equestrian riding is an integral part of the local culture. The combination of real estate, demographics, and market penetration that Wellington offers are great examples of characteristics that define long term viability.

"Palm Beach Equine Clinic has spent more than four decades building a global reputation in equine medicine, and the facility matches that standard," said Daniel Eisenstadt, CEO of Terramed Real Estate Solutions. "Wellington's role as the center of international equestrian competition creates a market unlike any other. The concentration of elite horses, riders, and events drives year-round demand for advanced veterinary care, and this property sits at the heart of it."

The facility has a surgical center, MRI and CT imaging, nuclear scintigraphy, a laboratory, a pharmacy, more than 20 patient recovery stalls, and a USDA-approved isolation unit. It can accommodate large trucks and horse trailers — a practical necessity for an equine hospital operating at this level.

Founded by Dr. Paul Wollenman and led by President Dr. Scott Swerdlin, Palm Beach Equine Clinic has grown from a regional practice into an internationally recognized hospital that has been open around the clock, 365 days a year, since its founding in 1981. It employs more than 35 veterinarians who provide comprehensive services for Olympic-level athletes, show ponies, and trail horses, including emergency care, surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging, dentistry, podiatry, radiology, sports medicine, regenerative medicine, reproduction, and alternative therapies.

Wellington is recognized as one of the United States' premier equestrian communities and draws top-level talent in show jumping, dressage, polo, racing, hunters, and Western sport horse competitions.

Terramed now owns and manages more than 1.7 million square feet of healthcare real estate nationwide, with recent additions in Appleton, Wisconsin; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Tacoma, Washington.
