One year after its launch, the mobile veterinary company, The Vets, has treated more 15,000 pets. The company has expanded to care for pets in a dozen US cities and hired more than 100 veterinarians and vet technicians.
Since its launch, more than 12,000 appointments have been made with an average of about 1000 pets treated each month. The increase across the year amounted to about a 30% increase month over month in customers. At the same time, the wait for an appointment has been reduced to 6 days, down rfom thr mobile veterinary industry average of 21 days.
Pet owners pay a flat rate regardless of the number of pets being treated at an appointment. Care can include a range of services including full exams, wellness exams, lab tests, vaccinations, be microchipped, or receive travel certificates.
The company currently manages 30 mobile units across Austin, Brooklyn, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Seattle, and Tampa. By the close of 2022, the company plans to reach pets and their owners in 25 states.
Providing care for a pet in a home setting can reduce stress and provides a convenient option for those with multiple pets.
