Veterinary Educator Symposium (VEC) - October 2023

Submit abstract by May 31


The Veterinary Educators Symposium (formerly VEC) 2023 theme is “Building partnerships and community in veterinary education."

The conference will be hosted by Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine on October 27 and 28. Organizers are seeking proposals for the symposium, with a deadline of May 31, 2023.

Proposals will be considered in the following categories:

  • Interprofessional (i.e., technicians, basic scientists, farrier, etc.) veterinary educators
  • Producing "day one ready" veterinarians
  • Post graduate DVM education or training
  • Community engagement in veterinary education
  • Pre-clinical curriculum innovations
  • Evidence-based teaching

One or more of the following attributes are encouraged for session, panel and workshop proposals:

  • Explicit connection to evidence-based literature/educational theory
  • Interactive learning and/or small group discussion
  • Collaborative, multi-institutional teams
  • Interdisciplinary perspectives
