Vet hospital co-op to tackle skin and ears

A network of veterinary hospitals operating as a cooperative, Vets Pets, has addressed one of the most common veterinary issues with a specialist in dermatology. The network will offer a practice specializing in dermatology for cats and dogs beginning in March.

"I'm thrilled! We were fortunate to find such a great partner in Dr. Hinn," said Steve Thomas, chief executive officer of Vets Pets. "There are only 300 practicing board-certified [veterinary] dermatologists in the country, and we're eager to provide this much needed service to our communities."

The practice is led by Anne Doherty Hinn, DVM, DACVD, who brings a background in public health and nutrition before studying to be a DVM. After 2 years in small animal practice, Hinn finished a residency in veterinary dermatology.

“Skin and ear issues, often chronic, are the two most common health concerns for pet parents,” said Dr. Anne Doherty Hinn of Carolina Veterinary Dermatology Clinic. “This can be uncomfortable for pets and frustrating for their owners. We create personalized solutions to ensure our patients receive immediate and long-term relief.”

Hinn is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology.
