Time2Track app aids would-be veterinary students in their college applications. The app, developed by Liaison International, helps applicants to manage hours required toward experience. The program, in combination with applications made through the company’s Veterinary Medicine Centralized Application Service (VMCAS), lets applicants document, track, and share experience time that is part of the school application process. VMCAS is used by the majority of American veterinary schools, according to the company.
"This solution helps prospective veterinary school students track and safeguard their earned hours of experience and seamlessly transfer them to their VMCAS application,” said George Haddad, founder, and chief executive officer of Liaison. “Most importantly it makes the highly competitive application process a clear pathway to the profession.”
On average, about 2,200 hours were submitted by individual applicants across a range of experience including coursework, positions, and internships. Using the app, hours can be tracked as well as test results and recommendation letters from veterinarians, all of which may be required for application. About 46 veterinary schools participate in VMCAS.
"We're pleased to see Liaison develop this new app to make the application process more efficient and user-friendly," said Dr. Andrew T. Maccabe, chief executive officer of the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC). "This new integration will help applicants document, organize, and submit the information that helps our member institutions make the best admissions decisions."
